This is my day and I relish it. Can there be two Sundays?

Sleeping in, I dream of whole-grain pancakes with fresh organic blueberries. Waking up, I make them (and a pot of strong coffee) a delightful reality. I throw a load of laundry in, wondering how I ever lived without a washer/dryer in my apartment. Later, my friends come by for a dip in the pool. It's a lazy Sunday. I'm home. It's perfect. This is what life should feel like. Every day.

A new day, a new work week. Welcome to Monday.

Up and out by six. Workout, shower and breakfast at East Bank Club. At my desk, energized and alert by eight-thirty. Ready to take on the world. It's good to live within walking distance of my office. It makes every day easier. It's everyday luxury.

A quick trip to O'Hare. Back by dinner. Tuesday's at Chez Mine

Big day. Doorman has cab waiting for me at five a.m. Meeting goes well. Easy flights to and from NYC. In the cab from O'Hare back downtown, I order something tasty from La Scarola. I enjoy it at my favorite table -- in my kitchen. It's good to be home.

Midweek in the city. An early start. Wednesday is my day for zen.

Up at 7. First stop -- the fitness room in my building. Then a quick visit to the on-site dry cleaner and I'm out the door by 8:30. After work, I swing by the Merchandise Mart. There's a leather sofa I'm in love with. Walking home, I envision it in my living room. The perfect addition to my perfect place.

I was meant to live in this city. Thursday's couldn't get any better.

Back in the office. Catch-up day. The time flies. Everything's done by 5:30. Back home as the sun begins to set. The city shimmers. I could look at this forever. A spectacular view is an everyday luxury. And it's even better at night.

Time to unwind. Entertaining friends at home. It's finally Friday.

Friends join me for dinner. On the deck, we mix cocktails while steaks grill on the bbq. We bring everything upstairs and eat in my kitchen. The granite countertops and stainless steel appliances make it feel like a stylish restaurant. I love entertaining at my place. Plenty of room, stunning views, a personal balcony, easy parking. My friends think I live in a condo. I can live with that.

A little exercise and some shopping as a reward. Saturdays rock.

The weekend. Pure luxury. I start by cycling to the lakefront and back. After leaving my bike in the storage room, I clean up and head over to Michigan Avenue. I'm home by 6:30, drop everything off, a quick shower and it's round two: dinner SushiSamba Rio with an interesting date. We converse easily, which is a luxury in itself.
